Olunloyo leaves PDP for ACN

Former governor of the old Oyo State, Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo, has formally dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in the state.

His defection came less than a week after he featured on an Ibadan-based independent radio station, where he confessed that he was tired of being a member of the PDP and would be joining forces with other politicians across the country for the formation of a mega party which he was confident would wrestle power from the PDP at the federal level in 2015.

The former governor who announced his defection in a live radio interview programme, had disagreed with the operational modalities of the beautification policy of the state government.

He maintained that the state government ought to have provided an alternative before pulling down the structures.

He defected to the ruling party in the state with Alhaji Tajudeen Balogun, a former loyalist of the Nigeria’s Ambassador to Syria, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja.
