BBM service, is to be made available as an app on iOS and Android devices.BBM will appear in app stores this summer (subject to approval by Google Play and Apple App Store), providing users with another way of communicating outside of traditional text messaging.BlackBerry Messenger was one of the first free messaging services in the early days of the smartphone and proved popular in part due to its ability to let you know whether someone had read your messages and simply chosen not respond, or as BlackBerry put it – ‘ an added layer of engagement with delivered and read statuses’.
