Bomb Explosion in Northern Nigerian

A bomb is said to have exploded in St. John’s Catholic Church, Bayan Gari, Bauchi, Bauchi State, Nigeria. The number of casualties affected are yet unknown having occurred during a sunday service.

There have been a spate of bombings rocking the Northern states of Nigeria including the Federal Capital. Bauchi State has been the target of many religious attacks in the early 90s but has now begun to attract bombing attacks since 2010.

There are some reports that this may have been instigated by the "Boko Haram" movement as a reaction to the crackdown on its members in other northern states.

Our heart goes out to the victims, their families, and the residents of Bauchi State and we continue to hope that the violence stops and peace restored to Nigeria.
