Toyota builds £100,000 bomb-proof SUV •Interior boasts champagne bar, windscreen TV, table computers...

A Toyota Sporty Utility Vehicle (SUV) has been built with added accessories which include a champagne bar, a widescreen TV and grenade proof armour.

The all-new Toyota Sequosia was originally built with £30,000 retail price, but the owner, who wasn’t satisfied with the style and protection the car came with, spent £100,000 (N24,801,000 in naira value) to add a champagne bar, a widescreen TV and grenade proof armour.

The bomb-proof SUV, described as “a fortress on wheels,” is also fitted with a wood trim, leather thrones and mounted tablet computers on the side.

The £100,000 Toyota Sequoia SUV has also been converted to withstand driving over a landmine as well as the lavish additions on the inside.

Its exterior remains as anonymous as when it was originally made, though has been armoured to withstand 7.62x51mm rifle rounds, hand grenades and landmines, but the interior changes are far more noticeable.

The new wonder was customised for Lexani Motors, an automobile franchise company which manufactures the finest custom sprinter van and executive vehicle conversions in the auto industry.

According to the director of sales at Lexani Motor Cars, Kim Pemberton, the company’s client base “comes from affluent professionals and heads-of-state who appreciate luxury but also want something unique that very few will have.”

Pemberton said in a published account about the newly built SUV that “it is the only Toyota Sequoia we have done although the owner has another one coming.

He said their other popular brands  are Cadillac Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Suburbans, and GMC Yukon Denali.

“The cost for a Lexani Motors interior on an SUV generally runs around $150,000 give or take depending on options.

“The interiors are handmade by our craftsmen in house and we are a small boutique company so we don’t mass produce our products like many.

“The we are through with our executive vehicles they not only offer the luxurious appointments the client has chosen in designing their environment but also will function as a mobile office,” Pemberton said.
