Bayern Munich Players Take Pieces Of Wembley Netting As Champions' League Souvenir...

It’s not a rare sight to see cricketers running off with the stumps as a souvenir after a hard-fought victory, but Bayern Munich took memento-grabbing to a new level after their Champions League triumph over Borussia Dortmund.

Arjen Robben’s last-gasp winner at Wembley Stadium last night ended the Bavarians’ 12-year wait for European glory, and what better way to ensure they would remember the occasion after a few steins than chopping up bits of the goal netting to take away?

And that’s exactly what Jupp Heynckes’ men did.

After lifting the trophy in front of the 90,000-strong crowd in north London and parading it round the pitch, Bayern players Franck Ribery, David Alaba and substitute Daniel van Buyten decided they wanted more than just the memories to take back to Germany with them.
