Champions United given guard of honour by Arsenal... but Van Persie's reception is not nearly as warm...

Arsenal's players today gave Premier League champions Manchester United a guard of honour to mark their impressive title victory.
There had been speculation the two clubs' status as rivals, as well as former captain Robin van Persie's summer transfer to United, would encourage the home side to resist continuing the long-standing tradition.
But after manager Arsene Wenger had revealed a desire to do so, his side produced the painful guard of honour and applauded champions United onto the pitch for today's match.

Van Persie and Kagawa let loose at Manchester United Christmas Bash...

It is a football ritual that has been honoured throughout the ages, but Manchester United appear to have taken 'making the new guy sing a stupid song' to the next level.
When Rio Ferdinand tweeted that Shinji Kagawa 'is one funny guy' during Manchester United's Christmas bash on Saturday evening, you knew that something pretty funny had gone on - and my word it did

The former Borussia Dortmund midfielder stepped up to the plate in the best way possible to perform a rather peculiar version of the annoyingly catch South Korean pop hit 'Gangnam Style'. It really does have to be seen to be believed.
Not to be outdone, fellow summer signing Robin van Persie stepped up to the mic to give his own version of 'Glory, glory Man United', which luckily for us was over not long after it begun.

Manchester United wins Manchester Derby...

Robin van Persie's injury-time winner sent Manchester United six points clear at the top of the Premier League after a stormy derby win against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Wayne Rooney's two first-half goals put the leaders in control against the reigning champions - but Yaya Toure and Pablo Zabaleta put City level as the game entered its closing moments.
United were overjoyed at a result that gives them a stranglehold on the title race, with Rooney taking his tally to a record 10 derby goals. But it capped a miserable week for City after the conclusion of their abject Champions League campaign.
Van Persie's strike ended the Blues' unbeaten home Premier League run stretching back to a 2-1 defeat by Everton in December 2010.
