Jack Wilshere Tweets Picture Of Son.... Wearing Barcelona Strip!!!

Jack Wilshere has tweeted a cute picture of his young son Archie soaking up the sun, although Arsenal fans may not be too impressed by the choice of kit.

The toddler is seen enjoying the weather decked out head-to-toe in Barcelona’s colourful ‘Tequilla Sunrise’ second strip.

Now, football fans can be sensitive souls at the best of times and Wilshere, currently recovering from minor ankle surgery, will no doubt receive a fair bit of stick for dressing his off-spring in another club’s colours

Arsenal trio Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Carl Jenkinson and Kieran Gibbs appear to have a career in the cockpit lined up when they retire – after successfully landing an Emirates aeroplane.

The Gunners stars are all used to challenges in the air, but instead of a crucial header, they were charged with bringing down the airliner in a simulator at Dubai International Airport.

The controls mimic those of a £250million A380 plane that can carry over 850 passengers, and after just the briefest of training, they got into the cockpit.

Winger Oxlade-Chamberlain proved to be natural, landing the plane brilliantly first time, before a nervous Gibbs repeated the feat.

England international Jenkinson also managed to land the flight, but only after shuddering it on to the tarmac at speed, making it a rather uncomfortable entry onto the runway.

Still, Emirates’ chief instructor Warren Coles was still impressed, telling them: ‘You all did really well – a little bit of confusion between the controls initially, but you got it at the end. You might have blown the tyres slightly but overall I was pretty impressed for a first go.’

Perhaps Arsene Wenger will look to save a few quid by getting one of the players to fly the team to their next match…

Champions United given guard of honour by Arsenal... but Van Persie's reception is not nearly as warm...

Arsenal's players today gave Premier League champions Manchester United a guard of honour to mark their impressive title victory.

There had been speculation the two clubs' status as rivals, as well as former captain Robin van Persie's summer transfer to United, would encourage the home side to resist continuing the long-standing tradition.

But after manager Arsene Wenger had revealed a desire to do so, his side produced the painful guard of honour and applauded champions United onto the pitch for today's match.

Thierry Henry could make third debut for Arsenal against Swansea in FA cup fixture next month...

Thierry Henry is set to make his third Arsenal debut in the FA Cup clash against Swansea on January 6.

The Gunners are in advanced talks with New York Red Bulls over a loan spell that will start five days earlier.

And manager Arsene Wenger hopes Henry can feature in his side’s FA Cup third round tie.

A deal has been agreed in principle but the two clubs remain in discussions over the length of the loan deal.

Wenger wants Henry, 35, until the end of the season but the MLS club are reluctant to lose their striker for that period of time.

The Red Bulls would prefer to have their star striker back for the start of their season in March.

Henry will be the first January arrival at the Emirates Stadium - and Wenger hopes at least two more will follow.

Holland striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is a prime target, as is Crystal Palace whizzkid Wilfried Zaha.

Contract News: Theo Walcott continues to frustrate Arsene Wenger!!!

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says he is frustrated that Theo Walcott is stalling on a new deal and wants him to decide on his Arsenal future soon.

The striker is out of contract this summer and would be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club in the January transfer window.

The 23-year-old has scored 10 goals from 17 appearances and is the club's top scorer.

"He knows what I want and he has to make up his mind," Wenger said.

"We have not made any progress. I have no news, I am frustrated.

"We are in negotiations for a long, long time. We have not been late in re-negotiations with him. We always try to extend contracts very early."

Walcott rejected a five-year deal worth £75,000-a-week in August, and has indicated his future may rest on whether he plays in a striking role.

The 23-year-old has made just five starts, with seven substitute appearances, in 16 Premier League games this season.

Wenger said last month that the club don't want to sell Walcott in January even though it is a risk as he could leave for free in the summer.

Walcott, who played for England in Euro 2012, joined Arsenal from Southampton for £12.5m as a 16-year-old in 2006.

He has scored 52 goals in 237 appearances and won 30 England caps during his time at the club.
