With money being a little tight, a club in Costa Rica has agreed a transfer for their star striker on a more practical level.
The delightfully named Rigoberto Chinchilla, owner of second division side Puma, has done a deal which will see forward Roger Fallas leave the club for newly-promoted Universidad de Costa Rica in exchange for 50 footballs.
‘I asked for 50 footballs, it’s all sorted,’ said Chinchilla.
‘As soon as they showed interest for Fallas’s transfer, I came to the idea to ask for 50 footballs from Universidad.
‘We are faced with many financial problems and any help is welcome. They asked me what is the catch, why did I leave Roger to leave like that.
‘It is a privilege that he was our player, and despite everything, I did not want to stand in his way and spoil plans to play in the First League and advance in his career.’
